Welcome to our online Bible study on John!
— Read: John 21:1-14 —
Sometimes life hits hard with a serious circumstance. Sometimes life hits hard with a series of serious circumstances.
Have you ever been through a long, difficult season? A time when you sincerely wondered when the onslaught of trials would finally end?
One of my favorite psalms says:
“Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.” (Psalm 30:5)
Sometimes the night seems long. Interminably long.
But night will always turn to morning…eventually.
In today’s reading, I love how John mentioned that the disciples fished all night, but had caught nothing.
But then…just as day was breaking…Jesus stood on the shore.
“Just as day was breaking…” (John 21:4)
I’m so grateful that Scripture reminds us that the dark of night is never permanent.
In the meantime, we can hold tightly to the One who promises to be with us through the night. We can also hold to His promise that the day will break…soon, very soon.
