DAY 37

Read: Luke 19:1-27

Zacchaeus was a rich man. In biblical times, you never saw a rich man run. That was too undignified. But Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus, but knowing that he’d never be able to see above the crowd, he ran ahead and climbed a tree. From his perch, he would be able to see Jesus when He passed by.

When Jesus approached the tree, He stopped and looked up and called Zacchaeus by name. He said, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down because today I must stay at your house.”

Jesus knew Zacchaeus’s name.

And He knows my name.

He knows your name too.

We do not serve an impersonal God. We serve a God who knows our name.
