Welcome to our online Bible study on Luke!
Read: Luke 11:29-54
When talking to the religious leaders of the day, Jesus refers to stories in Scripture — stories they’d all be familiar with.
In today’s reading, Jesus references the Queen of Sheba. Yep, Scripture records that the queen from Egypt traveled a long way to see for herself if all the stories she’d heard about Solomon were true. And if they were true, then that meant Solomon was wiser than anyone she knew.
The Queen of Sheba sought wisdom.
And centuries later, Jesus commended her for it.
Oh, how I want Jesus to say the same about me someday. That I sought wisdom. Not in earthly kings, but in the Word — the Word divinely inspired by the King of all kings.
Every day as I sit to read more, write more, and pray more . . . Jesus meets me there.
This is what I want to be true of me. That I sought hard after Jesus, to know Him more. And this is what we get to do together, as we journey through His Word.
When all is said and done, what do you want to be true of you?
